Black Mountain ‘Old Fangs’

Nothing beats a low-end, drop-out riff. Call it what you will – stoner rock, classic rock, or hipster freedom rock.  We call it rock’n’roll. Black Mountain recently performed live on Jimmy Fallon’s late night TV show – who coincidently is a known Shazamer. (He booked Neon Indian by tagging music with Shazam: check the NPR post )

New Music First! Neon Indian ‘Sleep Paralysist’

Neon Indian’s new single, ‘Sleep Paralysist’, is the latest offering from the Green Label Sound series of exclusive free downloads: a project which has already featured hugely creative names such as Chromeo, Solid Gold and Amazing Baby.

Neon Indian is  the work of 21 year old Juan Palomo of Austin, Texas. Juan formerly worked under the pseudonym of VEGA,  but earned raved reviews last year with his debut album as Neon Indian, ‘Psychic Chasms’. Neon Indian’s blend of lo-fi analog recordings, synth riffs and psychedelic vibes has made him a key player in shaping the new ‘Glo-fi’ style - one of the most promising trends in today’s indie music.

‘Sleep Paralysist’ was recorded in collaboration with Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear and can be downloaded here.
