Brooklyn’s Jace Clayton – aka DJ/Rupture – finishes a decade pushing the boundaries of leftfield music around the world. This time keeping it local by releasing his latest project in collaboration NY Producer Matt Shadetek.

In ‘Solar Life Raft’ they have created a sound of their own by merging former inclusions in dubstep, electronica, dancehall and hip-hop with even more challenging sonic explorations through every corner of the music spectrum, jumping effortlessly from musique concrete to Finnish psychedelic folk; grime beats to ethereal landscapes.

It all began with Rupture and Shadetek offering their combined remix services to some cutting edge local artists, including such renowned arty acts as Gang Gang Dance or Telepathe. The pair also throw some original works in, including incursions in the field of poetry –most notably, with Elizabeth Alexander, one of the speakers during Obama’s Inauguration ceremony- resulting in a unique work of dazzling originality.

‘Solar Life Raft’ will be released by The Agriculture on November 9th. A selection of the original unmixed tracks, “Solar Life Raft: The Ingredients”, is also being released simultaneously as digital-only format.
