This week Canadian noise punk duo Japandroids continued their mammoth hoping tour in support of 2009’s excellent LP ‘Post Nothing’ with a sold out gig at London’s ICA.

Japandroids took to the stage amid huge measures of sonic distortion and crowd anticipation then tore through their album ‘Post Nothing’ at break neck speed. They thrashed out the life affirming ‘Wet Hair’, ‘The Boys are Leaving Town’, and Rockers East Vancouver’ with the same level of sweaty enthusiasm they receive from the crowd. New material was also aired, notably Body Bag’, a song we are told may be new to us – but is old for the band.

JapandroidsNEW

This week saw Canadian lo-fi punk duo Japandroids start their first ever UK tour. The pair, comprising of guitarist Brian King and drummer David Prowse, put on a relentlessly energetic performance that inspired frantic reactions from the crowd. Playing a short set comprising of all the tracks from their debut album ‘Post-Nothing’, Japandroids deliver a sonic blast that seems unnaturally loud for a band with only two members.

After playing a handful of shows in the capital, the band will now head out on a full UK tour; supporting A Place To Bury Strangers. For more information on the dates, head to their MySpace.

Japandroids

Vancouver’s Japandroids today release their debut album ‘Post Nothing’ giving us a fresh blast of guitar music to start the week. The duo have been catching the attention of several rock taste-makers and are now heading to the UK for their debut tour. Their brand of lo-fi skuzzy garage rock is sure to translate well live and as the below video shows, despite being a two piece, the band can more than make up for their lack of numbers by creating a barrage of feedback drenched melodies.

For more info and tour dates head to their MySpace.
