Fresh from winning the Best Male category at this year’s NME Awards, Jamie T is set to release the latest single from his second album ‘Kings & Queens’. ‘Emily’s Heart’ is one of the album’s more solemn moments, with the singer reflecting on a love gone wrong. The accompanying video is sure to win over many fans. It follows a young man’s fruitless attempt in trying to get the affections of a girl, one that unfortunately seems slightly out of his league.
The full single is released on March 15th through Virgin and is currently available to download through iTunes.
‘Chaka Demus’ is the latest single taken from Jamie T’s forthcoming album ‘Kings & Queens’. After releasing his Mercury nominated debut ‘Panic Prevention’ in 2007, fans of the South London singer have been salivating at the prospect of new material. After the fantastic ‘Sticks ‘n’ Stones’ hinted that he would have no problem following his widely praised debut, ‘Chaka Demus’ also shows that ‘Kings & Queens’ is unlikely to suffer from the dreaded second album syndrome. The song takes its title from the revered Reggae musician and one half of 90’s one hit wonder duo Chaka Demus and Pliers. While the track unfortunately doesn’t feature a cameo from Chaka himself, it’s clear Jamie’s reggae tinged indie has had some influence from the Caribbean songsmith .

This week Pitbull tops the Shazam Pre-relesae Tag Chart with his huge reggaton/electro hybrid, ‘I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)’. The record takes its main hook from 90’s house classic ‘The Bomb’ by The Bucketheads – a record which in turn samples ‘Street Player,’ an obscure track from American AOR rockers Chicago.
