David Guetta is back, with his latest single ‘Little Bad Girl’ teaming up with Taio Cruz and Ludacris. The massive dance track features his trademark synths and dance beats, with Taio Cruz providing the smooth vocals and rapper Ludacris lending his inimitable flow. The track is the second single taken from his forthcoming album ‘Nothing But The Beat’ and promises that the French producer/DJ has had no problem following up the huge worldwide success of his last album ‘One Love’. Just after a few weeks, ‘Little Bad Girl’ has already racked up over 10 million YouTube hits and counting.

With sales of 15 million plus David Guetta’s undoubtedly the world’s most sought after producer. The driving force behind the current swathe of chart topping electro influenced R&B, Guetta’s music has helped a huge array of artists to the top of the charts. With a list of collaborators that includes The Black Eyed Peas, Flo Rida, Kelly Rowland, Rihanna, Akon, Madonna – Guetta’s productions credits read like a who’s who of pop. Guetta’s also a huge star in his own right. One of the planet’s most successful DJ’s, his own records have been some of the most pop records of the last decade with tracks like ‘When Love Takes Over’ and ‘Who’s That Chick?’ just two of his many platinum singles. We caught up with Guetta to talk about his forthcoming album, his next single with Nicki Minaj and why his relationship with Will.i.am is purely platonic.
Your new album is on the way, what can we expect?
Well the album is really far from being finished so I can’t really speak about it yet. The album is due in September. But I have my new record, ‘Where Them Girls At’, hopefully that’ll be number one on Shazam. That’s coming out on the radio on Monday and on iTunes at the end of the month (in the UK – a little before in some other countries). That’s really exciting. Nicki Minaj is one of my favorite artists on the planet right now so that’s really exciting: Flo Rida, of course, we had a number one record before.

It hasn’t been a bad few months for David Guetta. A US number one with the Black Eyed Peas, a slew of international hits under his own name and even a Grammy for Best Remix are just a few of his recent achievements. To add to his many accolades it has now been announced that the French DJ has taken the honour of being the one billionth track identified by Shazam with his track, ‘Getting’ Over’.
The one billion tag landmark is a pretty staggering achievement – even if we do say so ourselves. Shazam has now attracted over 75 million unique users to the service and is available in over 200 countries across the world. In many ways, it shouldn’t be a huge surprise that a Guetta track claimed the title of the billionth tagged track. Both his solo work and productions with the Black Eyed Peas have been ubiqtuous global hits that have rarely left radio and TV playlists since their release. As such, tracks like ‘When Love Takes Over’, ‘I Got A Feeling’ and ‘Sexy Bitch’ have all been among the most tagged tracks of the past year.
‘Getting Over’ was a popular album track taken from Guetta’s previous long player, ‘One Love’. A new single version (above) featuring the vocal talents of Fergie and LMFAO is currently doing damage in the Billboard charts and about to hit the UK nationals with a splash – a fact made obvious by ‘Gettin’ Over’s’ poistion at number one in the Shazam Pre-release Tag Chart UK.
David Guetta not only takes the crown as Shazam’s billionth tagged song, but he also tops this week’s Shazam Pre-Release Tag Chart with ‘Getting’ Over’.

Kelis is back with a new album and record contract! After taking some time off the spotlight in order to deal with more personal affairs – including her divorce from hip-hop star Nas Escobar and the arrival of her first son – the R&B singer is giving the finishing touches to her fifth studio album, ‘Acapella’. Its title track, dedicated to the newborn, is the first taste from the record and has just been previewed by the singer via her twitter feed. Produced by hitmaker du jour David Guetta; the song is an euro-dance infused, electropop smash. Expect it to soon be taking clubs around the world by storm.
With a slew of chart topping singles under his belt, production credits on the Black Eyed Peas’ multi platinum selling hits, and a continued dominance of the world’s best night clubs and festivals; you could certainly say 2009 hasn’t been a bad year for David Guetta. Not content with being one of the most successful dance producers on the planet, the DJ/Producer has used the last 12 months to storm the world’s pop charts – becoming one of the most consistent hit makers on the planet. Added to this, hook ups with Akon and Kelly Rowland have become some of the most tagged tracks at Shazam worldwide taking the number one spot in our tag charts both in the UK and USA.
However, while Guetta’s experienced a huge uplift in exposure this year, he’s far from forgotten his club music background. His revered club night in Ibiza , ‘F*** Me I’M Famous’, has continued to go from strength to strength while more underground productions from the Frenchman, such as ‘Grrrrr’, have continued to win over some of the world’s most important dance music tastemakers.
To celebrate the release of his latest album, ‘One Love’, we’re giving you a chance to win a copy of the CD signed by the man himself.
All you have to do to stand a chance of winning is email competition@shazamteam.com with your address and answer to the following question:
