Over the last fifteen years, Brighton based label Skint has been behind some of the most forward thinking and diverse electronic music of its time. Born in the era of Big Beat during the late ninties, Skint was home to some of the scenes major players – Fatboy Slim, Midfield General and Lo-Fidelity Allstars all set the pace and were responsible for some era defining moments in dance.

However, not being ones to rest on their laurels, Skint continued to search out new and intriguing artists. With the likes of Dave Clarke, X-Press 2 and Thomas Anderson all responsible for some classic tracks, plus acts such as Goose, Noisa and recent signings Mirrors showing the labels tenacity to push forward thinking and diverse artists.

After 3 years of sell-out London shows, the Bizarre Ball is on tour and heading to Manchester!

Headlining the Manchester event will be British psychosis rock mainstays, The Eighties Matchbox B-line Disaster, who will be performing alongside Rolo Tomassi and Obsessive Compulsive. Added to that, there will also be burlesque, an un-dead freak show and a circus of horrors – all soundtracked by oddball punk and dark goth anthems.

If anyone caught Booka Shade‘s set at Lovebox festival, you may have been slightly perturbed at the fact that their set got cut short. Due to the sheer weight of people who’d forced into the tent to try and watch them, organisers were forced to stop the duo’s set. The team behind Lovebox commented:

“The decision of the safety authorities to shut down the tent was made for cautionary reasons and we share everyone’s frustration and disappointment at being denied the chance to enjoy Booka Shade experience in full.  With this in mind we are able to announce that Booka Shade will be playing a special one off late license 2am affair at the HMV Forum in Kentish Town on Friday 10^th September.”

If you’ve ever ventured on to a club dance floor in the past 10 years it’s likely you would have come across tunes from Defected. The label is undoubtedly one of the most ubiqtuous house music brands on the planet and has some of the most memorable and loved dance music on its books. The label’s association with stunning clubs like Pacha Ibiza gives the label a certain glamorous image – the antithesis of which is probably London’s grungy rock-centric Camden.
