David Bowie To Release ‘Golden Years’ App

April 5th, 2011

While there’s no talk of a long awaited live comeback, David Bowie has announced a new EP and an interesting addition to the App Store. On June 6th Bowie will release ‘The Golden Years: David Bowie Vs KCRW EP’, which brings together a collection of mixes from DJs at the influential Los Angeles radio station KCRW. To check out their efforts, head to the KCRW Music Blog now.

The Thin White Duke is also encouraging fans to put their own slant on the track by releasing an iOS app which allows you to remix ‘Golden Years’.  The app gives users eight stems to play with, including Bowie’s original vocals from the 1975 single. Users can also export their mix as an mp3 and share it with friends;something the influential singer also did on his ‘Space Oddity’ app.

The app is due for release on June 6th. More info is available at BowieNet.
