The Fallen Angels – Sexy Boy

February 12th, 2011

Anyone who’s seen previous adverts for Lynx/Axe deodorant will know that they usually centre on the product’s seemingly irresistible power. One lucky gentleman generally finds himself inundated with potential female suitors, after increasing his appeal with a quick spray of low price body spray. It’s a fairly genius idea from the brand, who continue to develop interesting and engaging campaigns. Their recent advert, seen above, goes one better; with the power of one spray literally drawing angels from the sky.

The advert features an orchestral cover of Air’s ‘Sexy Boy’ – taken from their 1998 album ‘Moon Safari’. The track was recorded specifically for the campaign and has been given a full release under the fictional band name The Fallen Angels. It’s the kind of exposure that’s capable of generating number one records: just take Shaggy or Mr Oizo for example who both scored huge success after featuring in campaigns for Levis jeans. With The Fallen Angel’s version of ‘Sexy Boy’ now available to purchase on iTunes, don’t be surprised to see this track shimmying up the charts in the coming weeks.
