Tag Of The Day! Rihanna ‘Hard’
The second single from Rihanna’s latest album ‘Rated R’ sees the Barbadian R&B superstar hitting her stride, delivering an urban club banger that’s much less pop inclined than most of her previous songs. Subdued in pace, at least compared to ‘Shut Up And Drive’ or the ‘Tainted Love’ sampling ‘S.O.S.’; ‘Hard’ is much closer to the more hip-hop influenced R&B of the ’90’s than dance influenced cuts that have been sound du jour for urban acts of late. Featuring a performance from Atlanta born Young Jeezy, Rihanna continues an association with southern rappers that drew one of the biggest hits of the year when in ‘08 she hooked up with T.I. on ‘Live Your Life’.
Already breaking into the world’s charts, ‘Hard’ could be just another step to the crowning of Rihanna as the new Queen of urban music.
