Tag Of The Day. Jamie T – ‘Chaka Demus’
‘Chaka Demus’ is the latest single taken from Jamie T‘s forthcoming album ‘Kings & Queens’. After releasing his Mercury nominated debut ‘Panic Prevention’ in 2007, fans of the South London singer have been salivating at the prospect of new material. After the fantastic ‘Sticks ‘n’ Stones’ hinted that he would have no problem following his widely praised debut, ‘Chaka Demus’ also shows that ‘Kings & Queens’ is unlikely to suffer from the dreaded second album syndrome. The song takes its title from the revered Reggae musician and one half of 90’s one hit wonder duo Chaka Demus and Pliers. While the track unfortunately doesn’t feature a cameo from Chaka himself, it’s clear Jamie’s reggae tinged indie has had some influence from the Caribbean songsmith .
